Wild Crimes Murder in the Rocky Mountains
What a horrific real life crime that takes place in the Hulu series, ‘Wild Crime Murder in the Rocky Mountains.’ While I have seen many real life crime dramas, for some reason this one really hit home.
The story is about Harold Henthorn, a non-profit fiundraiser, whose second wife mysteriously falls from a cliff while on a hike with him in the Rocky Mountains. Henthorn had planned the trip as a surprise for his wife, Toni, a successful, professional eye doctor. After she falls, he goes down to where she is located and he makes phone calls to the emergency services and reports it. It seems that initially he is concerned but then when a forest ranger arrives and checks on Toni, only to find she has already died, and he begins to question Henthorn, does he begin to realize that certain things do not add up. The forest ranger has to consider the area closed for an investigation and he calls in National Park Service Special Agent Beth Shott who investigates Harold Henthorn.
After investigating Henthorn further, they learn that his first wife died under mysterious circumstances as well. All of the details, clues, and things that Henthorn says and does, leading up to Toni’s fall, make you realize that there is no way this man is innocent. The sad thing is they have a young child involved, who has lost her mother, and grandparents and family members who initially are allowed to see her but then eventually lose touch S Henthorn pulls her away, as he suspects the family thinks he is guilty (which he is!). My heart just broke watching Toni’s family go through all they did and what obstacles they had to overcome to get their daughter’s child away from a monster.
While similar stories have been told and series made, this one was well done and gripped you up to the end to see if justice was served for Toni.
