Certainly jealous about New Zealand Quinton! My sister was talking about wanting to move there :). Well here in Georgia it’s a bit of a mess, I mean where else would you have a Governor suing the Mayor of it’s Capitol city for trying to keep citizens safe? My husband and I live in Downtown Atlanta and for the most part, folks respect the mask/social distancing guidelines. We’re in a small condo building and get together w/ neighbors on the roof, which has been a lovely respite through all this and we have a lovely vegetable garden up there.
Work-wise it’s just all about finding our new groove. As entrepreneurs we’re used to pivoting, it’s what small business is all about, but tourism is one of the first to get hit and one of the last to recover so challenging is an understatement ;). Thankfully, my husband is a developer and his job is stable for the time being, plus he’s had a little more time to play w/ lighting tech and 3D printing, which has been fun around the house. We started virtual tours at Atlanta Movie Tours and we keep working on those and recently we were able to figure out the best way to run small private bus tours w/ customized booking on our website, we did the 3rd one today. Still had to lay-off 67% of the staff as the main goal to try and get through this is to stop the bleed as much as possible. Our team is resilient and everyone’s still on Slack, but they predominantly are actors and tour guides, so really hoping the FPUC is extended. Kind of concerned if that’s not extended, the few people we do see traveling will stop entirely, but just speculation. We just keep working on fun new things as much as possible and hanging on :).
