Director Selected for Hong Kong Phooey Movie

Alex Zamm has been selected to direct the upcoming big screen version of Hong Kong Phooey. The film will be a mix of live-action and animation and be based on the 1970’s cartoon series about a police station janitor who was transformed into a fighting dog.

Zamm’s directorial credits include a slew of direct-to video and television children’s films including Dr. Dolittle: Million Dollar Mutts, Inspector Gadget 2, and My Date with the President’s Daughter. Other rumors indicate that the Hong Kong Phooey script will be written by David Goodman, who has written for Family Guy and Futurama.

  1. But, Hong Kong Phooey was a dog, even when he was a janitor. I loved that show. It won’t be the same without Scatman, though.
