‘Eastwick’ Cancelled, Producer Not To Happy

Another series to get the axe this week was ‘Eastwick’, the ABC drama about 3 women who get special powers after one devilishly handsome man comes to town. The series is based on the John Updike novel and the hit film ‘The Witches of Eastwick’.

ABC confirmed that it will complete the production on the 13 episode order of the series. The remaining episodes will be aired at date not yet determined.

‘Eastwick’ executive producer Maggie Friedman voiced her thoughts over the cancellation saying that, “We’re smack in the middle of several insanely juicy stories. And so we do not get a chance to wrap things up in a bow. Which is killing me.”

Friedman told Entertainment Weekly that she was indeed pretty upset, “I’m pretty furious, too. We have such an amazing group of writers and actors – best people I’ve ever worked with. None of us can believe this is really happening.”
