Outside Lands Announce An Amazing 2011 Lineup

Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly Presents and Starr Hill Presents, in a partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, are proud to announce the lineup for the fourth annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival. The festival will once again take place in San Francisco’s historic Golden Gate Park August 12 – 14, 2011. Tickets will go on sale Thursday April 14 at 12 Noon PST via www.SFOutsidelands.com. A significant portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department.

In its first three years, the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival has diligently worked its way into becoming a welcomed and beloved tradition in its hometown, as it is now known throughout the country as the event that celebrates in grand style all the things that make the Bay Area one of the most desirable places to live and visit. Besides raising nearly $3,000,000 for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, the festival has set a new standard for live music in Northern California and the 2011 lineup is perhaps one of its most diverse and exciting to date. As in the past, major national headliners such as Muse, Phish, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, MGMT, The Decemberists, Erykah Badu and the Warren Haynes Band will perform alongside the best emerging artists in the world, including Deadmau5, Girl Talk, Beirut, Sia, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band, Best Coast, Phantogram, Junip, Little Dragon, Foster the People, The Joy Formidable and legends such as John Fogerty, The Original Meters, Big Audio Dynamite and Mavis Staples. The complete list of performers is below.

Outside Lands has partnered with Twitter, using their “Promoted Trend” platform, to exclusively give fans that follow “Ranger Dave” @SFOutsidelands early access to the lineup.
The media response to Outside Lands has been fantastic. Rolling Stone credited the event for leveraging “San Francisco’s food, wine, technology and activism cultures to give festival-goers a one-of-a-kind, world-class experience,” while MTV.com called it “San Francisco-style bliss.” The San Francisco Chronicle emphasized the festival’s “eclectic program,” while the San Jose Mercury News noted the “diverse thrills” that “make us look forward to Outside Lands 2011,” and the SF Appeal said that “Outside Lands is the quintessential San Francisco music festival.”

For all the work organizers put into its creative music programming, equal attention is paid to ensuring that the festival honors the significant role food and wine plays in the region’s history and economy. The sheer diversity and quality of the top restaurants and world-famous wineries that Outside Lands has onsite is truly what separates it from every other music and arts event in America. Ticket holders have access to a feast through the festival’s Taste of the Bay and Wine Lands where over 20 restaurants and 20 wineries gather. Outside Lands’ food and wine options have drawn attention and praise from The San Francisco Chronicle for being more than “the typical hot dogs and fries served at most outdoor festivals” and for having a “serious wine contingent” as well as Food & Wine Magazine for its “talented lineup of chefs and winemakers.”

With incomparable vision marrying food, wine and music in a fashion unlike any other festival in the country, Outside Lands has created a glorious atmosphere in one of the greatest parks in the world and, as a result, has become one of the most popular summer events in the country.
