Salma Hayek Developing ‘Wicked’ Miniseries

Salma Hayek is working with ABC to develop an eight part miniseries, based on the Broadway Musical Wicked. The show will not be a musical itself, and as of now there is no word if Hayek will play a role in the show.

The show will be based on the 1995 book by Gregory Maguire, titled Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, and Erik Jendersen (producer for Band of Brothers) is writing the script. Hayek and her partner Jose Tamez will produce via their Ventanarosa Productions with ABC Studios. ABC studios does not have the rights for the musical, but the project has been in development at Universal.
