Lana Parrilla Talks ‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 2 And What Fans Can Expect

The season finale of Once Upon A Time was a game changer, and it left fans wondering what happens next in this fall’s season 2 premiere. While the series hasn’t started filming for the new season yet, some of the cast is already talking about what’s in store for their characters.

Lana Parrilla who plays Regina/The Evil Queen on Once Upon A Time recently revealed that the fans weren’t alone – the season finale came as a bit of a shock to her as well.

“There was some talk about the curse being broken, but I didn’t believe it until I read it [in the script], because [series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis] are tricky that way,” Parrilla recently revealed in an interview with TVLine. “They don’t really tell you much, but I like that about them!”

So what’s in store for Regina next season on Once Upon A Time? Parrilla explained that Regina will continue to deal with the huge loss of her son, who has basically ran into Emma’s arms and completely deserted her. Regina also knows that there’s hope now with the magic returning – which fans probably figured with that evil smile that she smirked at the end of the finale as the ominous purple cloud stormed through Storybrooke.

But if the magic is back… it’s not going to be back for just Regina. Which opens up a world of possibilities for Rumpelstiltskin. What will Regina’s interactions with him be like post-magic return?

“I’m curious to see what happens between Rumpelstiltskin and the Evil Queen…” Parrilla admitted. “I imagine that whatever it is, it is not going to be pretty!”

We’ll have lots of season 2 details for you when we interview the cast this July at Comic Con – so keep checking back for more Once Upon A Time goodness! Until then, check out what other cast members have said about season 2 of Once!
