Stan Lee Developing ‘Chakra the Invincible’ Bollywood Movie

Comic book icon Stan Lee is eyeing a move into Bollywood with plans to turn his Indian superhero character Chakra the Invincible into a movie star.

The legendary writer came up with Chakra the Invincible, his first Indian comic book creation, in 2011 and now he is in talks with Graphic India boss Sharad Devarajan to adapt the story for a live action film.

The Chakra the Invincible comics detail the adventures of Indian teenager Raju Rai, who uses a technically-enhanced suit to unleash his powers using his body’s energy centers.

It was developed into a cartoon series in India last year and now Lee is aiming to have the movie version in pre-production in 2015, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A statement released by Lee reads: “We’ve set up some great meetings already with some of the most amazingly talented actors and directors in Indian cinema, and I have no doubt that these individuals will help make the Chakra film a massive hit in India and around the globe.”

If the project comes to fruition, it will mark Lee’s first Bollywood venture.
