John Legend and Idina Menzel to Perform at Super Bowl XLIX

John Legend and have signed up to kick off America’s Super Bowl spectacular next month.

The “All of Me” singer has agreed to sing “America the Beautiful” before the big football game starts at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, while Menzel will follow in the footsteps of stars including Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera by singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The news comes just a day after Legend landed an Oscar nomination for his Selma song “Glory,” and “Let It Go” hitmaker Menzel reveals the gig is a dream come true, writing in a message posted on Twitter, “I am so humbled and honored to be asked.”

Katy Perry will provide the half-time entertainment at the big game, which takes place on February 1.
