Final Two ‘Divergent’ Films Get Official Titles and Logos

The final two films in the Divergent series have new names and that’s not the only change the movies could face.

MTV revealed that the final installments of the popular teen dystopian series, previously named The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 1, and The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 2, would henceforth be known as (drumroll please!): The Divergent Series: Allegiant and The Divergent Series: Ascendant.

See what series author Veronica Roth had to say about the name change on her Tumblr page:

What does this mean? Well, basically, it means there are going to be some changes, but it’s really too early to know exactly what those changes will be or the extent of them. I know changes always make fans of the books– and the author!– nervous, but hopefully the characters we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing. I am eager to see how these movies turn out, along with you guys.

MTV also dropped the two new logos for the final films, complete with their respective taglines “Break the boundaries of your world” (Allegiant) and The end is never what you expect” (Ascendant).

Look out for The Divergent Series: Allegiant to hit theaters Friday, March 18, 2016. The final installment in the series, The Divergent Series: Ascendant is slated for release on March 24, 2017.
