Columbia Pictures President Matt Tolmach recently spoke about the upcoming reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. Tolmach noted that today’s movie makers are in a golden age of technology, but said that “With great power comes great responsibility, and we have to always fall back on great storytelling.” He also said that the film would be “Peter Parker told differently,” and promised that the new movie would feel different than the ones starring Tobey Maguire.

Marc Webb will be directing the new film, which is currently scheduled for a July 3rd, 2012 release date.
