FanBolt Exclusive: David Dastmalchian Chats ‘Count Crowley’, ‘Dune’, and More!
Back at the Virtual Pop Carpet, this geek gal was able to reconnect with a gem of a gentleman who always embraces me with a hug every time I see him at a con, David Dastmalchian. With cons canceled, Virtual Expo 2020 brought a unique opportunity for fans to find a sense of community during these isolating times and David was thrilled to bring his Count Crowley gang along for the digital ride. Count Crowley: Reluctant Midnight Monster Hunter is a comic book series created by David and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak to him after his panel with Lukas Ketner (artist), Lauren Affe (Colorist) and Megan Walker (Editor). You may not know him from his writing, but this definitely won’t be the first time you see him on your screen. He has had roles in movies like The Dark Knight, Blade Runner 2049, Ant-Man, and Hulu’s Reprisal.
David spoke about how weird of a time this is for him but how this expo has been a great opportunity to talk about what is going on and how this virtual con gives an opportunity for those who may not be able to afford cons like SDCC to participate; especially on a global scale; “Someone in Tokyo could’ve been watching this panel,” exclaimed David.
Being the tease he is, David mentioned briefly his participation in the highly-anticipated Dune.“If there was ever a time that we all needed to be transported to distant galaxies…,” says David, “But that’s all I can say” Fine David, Fine!
Check out the video to see what else he denied telling. Till next time David.
