Weekend Box Office Report: ‘The Possession’ Holds On To #1

The Possession held onto the box office crown for the second weekend bringing in $9.5 million to retain the #1 spot. Holding onto #2 was Lawless, the period crime drama starring Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf which brought in $6 million for its second weekend. Opening modestly at #3 in its opening week was Bradley Cooper’s The Words bringing in just $5 million. Slipping one spot to #4 in its fourth week was The Expendables 2. The action flick brought in $4.8 million. The Bourne Legacy also dropped one spot, down to $5 in its fifth week with $4 million.
