A Night of Fright: Geeking Out at Atlanta’s Netherworld 2023

Netherworld 2023

As the chill of autumn descends, it’s officially time for spooky spectacles and hair-raising frights! Netherworld Haunted House is officially open for the season in Atlanta. And it promises a thrill-filled experience to all who dare to visit!

It’s no secret that our team at FanBolt LOVES Netherworld. Over the years, we’ve continued to say that it’s the best-haunted house in the country. And we’ve done Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando, Pennhurst Haunted Asylum, and so many other haunted houses across the country.

The 2023 Netherworld Haunts

For 2023, Netherworld introduces two new haunted houses, Primordial and Cryptid Choas. In Primordial, the elemental beings of water, wind, earth, and fire are fueled by the energy of the gateway to the NETHERWORLD. The monsters have emerged into our universe on a mission to destroy.

In contrast to the main haunt, Cryptid Chaos brings to life cryptid creatures and nightmarish urban legends battling it out with the nefarious Boogeyman to place a new monster at the top of the horror food chain!

“We love building on our past themes and thrilling guests with new monsters, surprises, and features,” Netherworld co-creator Ben Armstrong says.

Armstrong is beyond thrilled to unveil the 2023 haunted houses. With each haunt featuring a continuation of past tales, new and returning characters, and incredibly detailed storytelling that sets Netherworld apart from all other haunted houses.

Netherworld’s Midway

In between both haunts lies Netherworld’s Midway. This horror-themed festival-style area boasts larger-than-life photo opportunities, a gigantic skeletal dragon, and plenty of horrifying monsters and creatures roaming about, who are more than willing to pose for your Instagram! (There’s nothing more fun than asking monsters for a photo and asking if you can give them a hug. Because, hey, monsters need hugs too.)

Food and beverage options are also abound, including mini donuts (which are oh so good!), hot dogs, nachos, gourmet popcorn, Dippin’ Dots, and new offerings like fudge, pretzels, and bratwurst. Guests can also enjoy Dr. Octane’s Bizarre Beverages, serving up several flavors of tasty, colorful, non-alcoholic fizzy bubbling concoctions.

“Each year, we aim to give both first-time haunt goers and loyal Netherworld fans a new over-the-top experience,” says co-creator Billy Messina.

In addition to the haunts and Midway, there’s also an impressively rad monster museum showcasing. It showcases rare movie props and Netherworld memorabilia, as well as five epic escape room games, including the newly opened Alien Terror: Doom of the Dark Horizon game.
