1977 – Judas Priest embarked on their first U.S. tour in Oakland, California, opening for Led Zeppelin.

1980 – Keith Godchaux of The Grateful Dead died from injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident.

1990 – Production started on John Mellencamp’s acting and directing debut, “Falling From Grace.”

1998 – Iron Maiden announced that they had to cancel the rest of a U.S. tour after a doctor told Blaze Bailey not to sing for one month.
