Missy Elliott Is Back in the Studio

Missy Elliott is back in the studio with longtime collaborator Timbaland less than two weeks after she stepped back into the spotlight, following a lengthy hiatus, at the Super Bowl.

The “Lose Control” hitmaker’s not-so surprise performance alongside half-time show headline Katy Perry was a big hit and the warm reception she received appears to have inspired her to get back to making music.

Posting a photo of herself in the studio with Timbaland on Twitter on Tuesday, Elliott wrote, “Me & @Timbaland bk (back) 2 the drawing board studio dirty beats.”

Missy’s last full album, The Cookbook, was released in July, 2005.
