AMC’s ‘Preacher’ Will Premiere March 12 at SXSW

AMC had previously announced that it will be premiering the pilot episode of the highly anticipated series, Preacher at SXSW next month, and now we have the details!

While it’s not slated to premiere until mid-2016, Preacher will premiere its pilot episode on Saturday, March 12 at 1pm at the Vimeo Theater in Austin, Texas. The series, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“This Is the End,” “Superbad,” “Neighbors”) and showrunner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”) and is based on the popular comic book franchise of the same name.

Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), who is inhabited by an entity and develops a highly unconventional power. Along with his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga), Jesse and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) come together and when they do, trouble seems to follow them wherever they go.
