‘Carter Beats the Devil’ Back on Track

After years in development, it looks like the movie version of book “Carter Beats the Devil” is finally moving forward thanks to Warner Bros.

“Carter Beats the Devil” is set in the 20’s and revolves around magician Charles Joseph Carter and the death of a US President.

Tom Cruise was originally set to star back in 2002, but when he dropped out, the production ground to a halt.

Michael Gilio (Treasure Island) will be adapting the screenplay. Jon Shestack will produce. Shestack said, “I’ve been trying to get Warner Bros. to buy this since the day it came out, and that it’s finally happening is enough to make me believe in magic.”
