Sacha Baron Cohen To Play Freddie Mercury

Sacha Baron Cohen will play Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a new biopic written by Peter Morgan.

Filming starts next year via Tribecca Productions.

“Morgan is already working on a script focused on the band’s formative years, leading up to Queen’s appearance at Live Aid in 1985,” says one report. “Queen’s performance is considered one of the rock’s all-time great live concert appearances.”

Queen’s songs have been licensed for the film.
