We’re Geeking Out Over the ‘Dune’ First Look Photos!

If you’re a fan of sci-fi novels, chances are, you’ve heard of Dune by Frank Herbert. It’s a story set between two planets. One of which holds more than just the rugged terrain and seemingly uninhabitable conditions. It’s the source of a ‘spice’ that brings extreme mental clarity and ability as well as longer life.

Vanity Fair is sharing more information into the story and the film hitting theaters later this year. Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, and Stellan Skarsgard are just a few members of the all-star cast breathing new life into the story.

In terms of Chalamet’s character, Paul, he’s in for a special kind of awakening. He’s not just a young adult trying to navigate life in a new place… he’s got what it takes to change it. He has ‘supernatural gifts’ that can save the world he knows, and beyond it, but that won’t happen without a struggle.

While the first film adaptation didn’t exactly wow audiences, Filmmaker Dennis Villeneuve is taking a different approach. Instead of one movie covering the entire story – it’ll be split into two parts. His quote is attached below in the caption of the photos.

“I would not agree to make this adaptation of the book with one single movie,” says Villeneuve. “The world is too complex. It’s a world that takes its power in details.”

The photos are absolutely stunning, and the cast line up is absolutely packed full talent. As we mentioned before, from Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya to Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem – and then some – this is going to be a film you won’t want to miss.

If you’ve not yet read the book, now’s a perfect time to take in the story before the film hits theaters. As we mentioned above, the story has been brought to film before and there’s a series based upon the sci-fi novel as well.

Are you looking forward to Dune? What are your thoughts on the Dune first look photos? Have you read the book, or did you see the first film or series? Let us know.
