Taylor Swift And Rachel McAdams Join READ Campaign

Pop superstar Taylor Swift and Mean Girls actress Rachel McAdams are teaming up with the American Library Association to promote the importance of books and reading.

Swift and McAdams are just two of many celebrities to participate in the campaign – some other famous advocates include Daniel Radcliffe, Henry Cavill, Orlando Bloom, Eva Mendes, Hugh Jackman and Oprah Winfrey.

The two ladies will participate in the READ effort by photographing with their favorite books.

Swift, a longtime fan of reading, has donated thousands of books to libraries in Nashville and Pennsylvania. In her READ commercial, the 24-year-old blonde poses with Lois Lowry’s young adult novel The Giver.

She will appear as Rosemary in the film adaptation of the book – a star-studded sci-fi drama that hits theaters on August 15th.

More than 200 celebrities and public figures have participated in the ALA Celebrity Read campaign since its inception in 1985.
