Pretty Little Liars showrunner and executive producer I. Marlene King has certainly found her niche in the teen thriller genre with the hit ABC Family series and she’s preparing to bring fans another series featuring (possibly) murderous teenagers.

Now that we have confirmation the Pretty Little Liars will end after its seventh season, ABC Family is already busy getting its replacement show together and has enlisted two PLL biggies to head up the project.

The new television series The Perfectionists, is based on a book series by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard and involves (what one can only assume is) she and Marlene’s favorite subject: young adults who may or may not have committed murder.

According to Deadline, the series is described as “After their lives are ruined by a handsome womanizer, five girls plot the perfect revenge. Then he dies, exactly how they planned — but they didn’t do it. So who did?” Hmmm…that sounds vaguely, but not exactly familiar…

Unlike Pretty Little Liars, there’s less source material to work from, as the first book in the series was just published within the last month.

The series is currently in development with a search underway for the writer.

Let us know what you think of the new series in the comments below.
