Former ‘Doctor Who’ Star David Tennant Joins ‘Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones’

The cast of Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones keeps getting more and more impressive, this time with the recent addition of none other than David Tennant of Doctor Who fame.

David Tennant has joined the Netflix series as villain Kilgrave, according to Marvel.com. His character is mysterious figure from Jessica’s past, whose appearance will send shockwaves through the former superhero’s world.

“I’m so honored and excited by the prospect of David inhabiting this multifaceted character,” Executive Producer/Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg told Marvel. “He can deliver the most heart-wrenching moment to the driest of lines, and all points in between. He’ll make Kilgrave a truly original villain.”

Tennant joins Krysten Ritter as the show’s titular character and Mike Colter as Luke Cage.

Daredevil will be Marvel’s first original series on Netflix and stars Charlie Cox as the blind superhero and Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones will follow later in 2015.
