Gowns from Taylor Swift, Oprah and More on Display at SCAD’s Oscar de la Renta Exhibit

Fans of late fashion designer Oscar de la Renta can view the gowns he made for the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Taylor Swift at a new exhibit right here in Georgia.

The style icon lost his battle with cancer in October, and as part of a tribute to his lasting legacy in fashion, bosses at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) Museum of Art have dedicated their new exhibit in his honor.

Vogue contributing editor and SCAD trustee Andre Leon Talley, a close friend of de la Renta’s, is the curator of the exhibit, and he reveals he personally hand picked each piece on display.

He tells Entertainment Tonight, “I just went gung ho into the closets of people that I know. This whole exhibit is based upon threads of memory that I have had of, where I’ve seen these people wearing the clothes.”

Among the 70 pieces in the exhibit are the midnight blue gown worn by Winfrey to the 2010 Met Ball, and the flowing pink number Swift donned during the same event last year.

Other items on display include outfits worn by Nicole Kidman and former First Ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush.

“Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Style” runs until May 3rd and is open to the public with the cost of museum admission.
