‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp’ Showrunner Open to More Installments

Fans of Wet Hot American Summer are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Netflix prequel series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp and if things go well, we could end up getting more Wet Hot in the future.

WHAS: First Day of Camp‘s showrunner and co-star Michael Showalter told reporters at the 2015 TCA press tour, that he isn’t ruling out the possibility of bringing more of Camp Firewood’s shenanigans to the small screen.

Check out what he had to say about the possibility of more episodes beyond the limited run, per Deadline:

If everyone wants to do it, we’ll do it,” said Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp’s Michael Showalter today of another Netflix installment of the cult movie. “The time commit for this cast is quite accommodating,” the showrunner and co-star of the July 31 debuting series added. “The feeling is we are interested in creating an environment that is easy for people being able to say yes.”

Showalter also had this to add:

“I always thought of the characters from Wet Hot American Summer as comic book characters and there is no shortage of stories we could tell about them,” Showalter noted. “If you want to do something do it, if there is a will there is a way,” the WHAS co-writer added with a smile. Netflix hasn’t made any noise yet about more Wet Hot American Summer.
