‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Release Date Set for December 18, 2015
There is still some script rewriting underway, but Lucasfilm has announced Star Wars: Episode VII will be released on December 18, 2015. The movie will not be pushed to 2016 as rumors were originally indicating.
Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios chairman, responded to the the rumors that J.J. Abrams was concerned about meeting the 2015 deadline. “We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” Horn commented.
Star Wars: Episode VII starts shooting in the spring at London’s Pinewood Studios, and we’ll continue to bring you more updates about the film as they surface.
That was probably a very honest response too. It sounded like he Abrams needed more time and Disney flat-out said no because it’s all about profits and meeting promises made to investors. It looks like they made a compromise. I just hope it’ll be enough time to make a good film.
I’m actually looking forward to it,having never seen a Star Wars movies at the cinema. Hopefully they do a great job on the writing.
Fingers crossed – I really want this to be good!
If moving the date to 18 December 2015 means a quality film then good call. I don’t want to see the film with any characters like Jar Jar Binks.
