SYNOPSIS
Vivian (Hadley Robinson), a seemingly shy 16-year-old, has always preferred to keep her head down and fly under the radar. But when the arrival of a new student (Alycia Pascual-Peña) forces her to examine the unchecked behavior of her fellow students running rampant at her high school, Vivian realizes she’s fed up. Inspired by her mother’s (Amy Poehler) rebellious past, Vivian anonymously publishes an underground zine called Moxie to expose bias and wrongdoing in her high school, and unexpectedly sparks a movement. Now at the center of a revolution, Vivian begins to forge new friendships with other young women and allies, reaching across the divide of cliques and clubs as they learn to navigate the highs and lows of high school together. Directed by Amy Poehler and based on the novel by Jennifer Mathieu, MOXIE also stars Lauren Tsai, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Nico Hiraga, Sydney Park, Josephine Langford, Clark Gregg, Josie Totah, Anjelika Washington, Charlie Hall, and Sabrina Haskett, with Ike Barinholtz and Marcia Gay Harden.

  1. The book Moxie was so empowering to me and had such strong message. It had mentions and even timelines of very serious topics such as SA which a stigma has been built around. these stigmas should be tore down spoke about in today’s society which teenage girls still to this day are being chastised for things such as their interests etc. After watching the trailer and seeing Alycia who plays Lucy Hernandez (who i am honoured to share a name with and might be bias because she’s my favourite character) and the rest of the cast i fell in love right away with this movie. The diversity is absolutely *chefs kiss* and knowing it’s directed by a women such as Amy Poehler i knew again simply that this movie would be empowering girls around the world and letting them know that Moxie girls fight back! <3

  2. I am one of Josephine Langfords biggest fans. She is amazing. To be able to see Moxie early would be a dream! Time to start the revolution, baby!

  3. Moxiehad mentions and even timelines of very serious topics such as SA, Racism, sexism etc and alot of shows/films tip toe around this. They make it as if we shouldn’t talk about issues that teenage girls face. Moxie truly inspired me to be open about events that I have experienced. It encourages me to go on.

I truly can’t wait to watch this on Netflix ❤️

  4. I’m dying to see this movie. I read the book and I’m just so excited to see it come to life onscreen. I love Amy Poehler and I’m also a huge Josephine Langford fan so I cannot wait!

  14. I love the message of the movie and that’s to never keep quiet on what you think is right. Even in the trailer when the girl said she will keep her head up high as she should! Girls are so consumed on believing that people will never listen to them just because of their gender. While this might be right we need to stop that idea. Moxie is a revolution
