Gossip Girl Season Finale Review: ‘The Goodbye Gossip Girl’

We’re back from the 80’s flashbacks of last week’s episode to welcome the season finale which doesn’t hold short on the drama.

You may think that you’ll get closer to the identity of Gossip Girl herself (or himself), but what kind of show would this be if that was revealed? That’s a series finale piece of gossip!

But there are so many other bombs dropped in this finale that it’s hard to cover them all. Graduation seems like it’s going to go off without a hitch until Gossip Girl sends out a blast telling everyone exactly what she thinks of our beloved group. Serena (Blake Lively) feels that she’s gone too far and is determined to out the infamous Gossip Girl. Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Serena determine that in order for Gossip Girl to know all their secrets, she probably has to be their age and going to their school…. so she must be in their graduating class! As the crew gets a little bit too close to the truth, Gossip Girl lets out all the ammunition she’s been storing and leaves our group divided.

Meanwhile, Jenny (Taylor Momsen) sets her sights on breaking apart the mean girls, Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle) finally address what they’ve been dancing around for the last few episodes, and in the last few scenes we met a new character (who if you’ve read the casting calls, you know will have a major impact next season).

But the one thing that we have all needed some closure on is Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck, and they certainly don’t disappoint. I can’t tell you what will happen, but the last scene will answer many of your questions.

So what awaits us with season 3? How will the show progress with our favorite Upper East Siders going to college? Fall seems a lifetime away right now, but we’re sure it will be one juicy ride when it gets here!

The series signs off with a bang. XOXO. You know you love it.
