William Bradley Pitt was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on December 18, 1963. But he grew up in Springfield, Missouri. His parents were William Alvin Pitt and Jane Etta. He has a younger brother named Douglass Mitchell and a younger sister named Julie Neal. He graduated from Kickapoo High School and later majored in journalism at the University of Missouri.

Barely two weeks until completing his degree requirements, Pitt decided he wanted to be an actor instead. He left university and relocated to Los Angeles. Once there, he worked a variety of jobs while taking acting lessons.

Pitt started acting professionally in 1987, taking uncredited roles in movies. He also appeared sporadically in TV shows like Growing Pains and Trial and Error. Additionally, he had a rather prolonged stint in the primetime show, Dallas, appearing for four episodes.

While filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Pitt and co-star Jolie had undeniable chemistry, which transitioned from the big screen to the real world. They dated for about 10 years before finally tying the knot in 2014.
