Lucasfilm Announces ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Movie with Production Starting in 2024

Get ready, Star Wars fans! The galaxy is about to get a whole lot bigger. The Mandalorian and Grogu, better known as Baby Yoda, will be making their big-screen debut. The news has been confirmed by Lucasfilm that a movie featuring the pair is set for production in 2024. This announcement has sparked excitement among fans who have been following their adventures on Disney+.

Jon Favreau, the creative mind behind the successful “The Mandalorian” series, will be at the helm of this project. Favreau expressed his excitement about the upcoming venture, stating, “I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

Lucasfilm’s President, Kathleen Kennedy, echoed Favreau’s enthusiasm. She commented, “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”

This upcoming movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, will lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature-development slate. The studio is also working on projects with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is currently developing Ahsoka Season 2.
