Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire   (2024)

Rating: PG-13

Release Date: In theaters nationwide on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Summary: In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, two mighty forces, the fearsome Godzilla and the mighty Kong, will have to unite to defeat a new enemy that threatens our world and challenges their very existence and our own.

What To Watch For: Adam Wingard, who directed the 2021 box-office hit Godzilla vs. Kong, is back at the helm for this sequel.

Word on the Street: Apparently, Godzilla’s atomic breath has grown in power. In the previous film, it was a light blue in tint; now, signifying a boost, it is a reddish color.

My Take: After the success of Toho’s Godzilla Minus One last year, I predict that this film will be a big box office draw.

Word on the Street: The films feature archival footage and TV appearances, including footage never seen before.

My Take: Morgan Neville, who won the 2014 Oscar for his documentary 20 Feet from Stardom, directs the film.
