E3 2012: XCOM: Enemy Unknown Impressions

XCOM: Enemy unknown is one of the more unique entries we saw at E3 this year. Many a fan of the original series was unhappy with the previous game and it’s first person shooter direction. Worry not, the new XCOM is going back to its roots and we’ve got some videos to prove it.

Not only that, but we received a pretty impressive live action demo. We can confirm, this is a full blown strategy game, complete with isometric view as well as a turn based combat system. It was quite the joy to watch how much strategy and thought I put into the game we saw played as well as the presence of upgrade paths.

Not only that, but the developers have promised it won’t be dumbed down for consoles. That means we will finally have a new one of those rare entries in console games, a fully functional Turn Based Strategy game. However, you don’t need to take my word for it, we have it all in video form for you to check out below.
