President Obama To Appear On ‘MythBusters’ On December 8th
On October 18, President Obama announced that he would be appearing on an upcoming episode of MythBusters. The Discovery Channel has announced an date for the episode which will be entitled President’s Challenge. Fans can tune in on December 8th to see President Obama challenge hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to re-test the myth of the Archimedes Solar Ray.
The myth which the show will be testing says that Greek scientist Archimedes set fire to an invading fleet using only mirrors and the rays of the sun. After developing a unique mirror aiming system, Adam and Jamie will use the President’s STEM connections and enlist 500 student volunteers that will be ready to light a fire for science!
The episode is part of a multi-platform initiative launched by Discovery Communications that supports the Administration’s campaign for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) awareness.
