Angelina Jolie Prepared for ‘Maleficent’ with Yoga


Angelina Jolie thanks yoga for getting her into shape for Maleficent. The actress actually does many of her own stunts in the film, but in order to prepare she had to build strength in order to perform flying scenes.

The advice to turn to yoga came from Jolie’s longtime stunt double Eunice Huthart, but the Jolie says, “I have no patience for yoga. It’s not something I do easily, because I’m not a still person. But I was forced to do yoga because (to fly) you have to have your core strength to be able to hold yourself.

“You’re almost like a puppet with all these people moving (beneath you). When you go to the left or the right all of you have to move together. It’s a big dance with a lot of people.”

But the preparation paid off and Jolie admits she had a great time on the Maleficent set: “I feel like the luckiest girl in the world that I get to fly. I really feel like I’m flying!”
