Mischa Barton Facing Lawsuit Over Movie Project

Mischa Barton of The O.C. fame has been in and out of the tabloids for many less than savory reasons sense the end of the series. Now word is that she’s facing a lawsuit over allegations she missed the start of a movie project because she was on vacation in Europe.

Producers behind a film called Promoted have filed legal papers, obtained by TMZ.com, accusing the actress of derailing the production by her absence.

In the documents, they allege Barton missed the March 4th start date and claim they received an email from her mother which suggested the star was in Europe and would not be available until around two weeks after she was due to start work.

They are suing Barton to reclaim the $20,000 advance she was paid, as well as $200,000 in marketing expenses, and an additional $100,000 in costs.

We hope this young lady can get her act together. The world already has one too many Lindsay Lohans (who’s actually trying to get herself together now…guess she opened up a dysfunctional starlet vacancy).
