Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is set to hit the New York stage with Orange is the New Black actress Taylor Schilling for a new adaptation of Ivan Turgenev’s comedy A Month in the Country.
The Off-Broadway comedy-of-manners, directed by Dinklage’s wife Erica Schmidt, will open at the Classic Stage Company in January and run for a month.
Schilling will play bored wife Natalya, while Dinklage will take on the role of Mikhail Rakitin, her longtime friend and admirer.
The play isn’t the first time Schilling and Dinklage have been onstage together – they were part of the cast of a production of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya at Bard College, New York in 2008, which was also directed by Schmidt.
Not quite the Piper/ Tyrion cross-over you may have been hoping for but fingers crossed my friends, you never know what could happen in today’s wacky world.
