Vince Vaughn Set to Join Colin Farrell in ‘True Detective’
Vince Vaughn will join Colin Farrell for the second season of hit TV drama True Detective.
HBO bosses confirmed the news on Tuesday and announced Justin Lin will direct the first two episodes.
Production on the eight-episode drama will begin later this year in California.
The series, created and written by Nic Pizzolatto, became a big hit when it debuted earlier this year with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey playing troubled cops on the hunt for a sick killer.
Neither McConaughey nor Harrelson will return for the second season.
Farrell will play a cop trying to do his job surrounded by corrupt police bosses and a mobster, who demands favors from him, while Vaughn will portray a desperate career criminal.
The official logline for the new season? “Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”
