Taylor Swift Remains at Top of Album and Singles Charts for Second Week

Taylor Swift has scored a second successive week at the top of the albums and singles chart.

Her album 1989, which debuted at number one last week with 1.287 million sales, stays on top of the Billboard 200, while her “Shake It Off” single lands a fourth non-consecutive week at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 countdown.

Her second-week album sales are almost seven times greater than those for the Now 52 compilation, which spends a second week at number two with 59,000 copies sold.

Bette Midler’s “It’s the Girls” debuts at three, Jason Aldean’s “Old Boots, New Dirt” rises a spot to four and Calvin Harris rounds out the new top five with “Motion” – his first top 10 album.

Meanwhile, on the singles chart, Swift holds off Meghan Trainor’s former eight-week Hot 100 number one “All About That Bass” and Maroon 5’s “Animals”, which round out the new top three.

Taylor’s been everywhere lately, so we have to ask: Are you burned out on Ms. Swift yet?
