Niall Horan Is Not Leaving One Direction

A representative for One Direction has assured fans Niall Horan is still a member of the hit boy band after he was targeted in a Twitter hack attack.

The singer became a trending topic on the microblogging site on Sunday night after hoax reports surfaced online, alleging the Irish star had walked out on the Best Song Ever hitmakers after four years together.

The news went viral, sending fans into a spin, and appeared to have been given credence after it was picked up by the Twitter accounts of a handful of U.K. news sites, including Yahoo Celebrity UK.

However, a representative for Yahoo has since admitted their Twitter blog had been compromised ahead of the One Direction post and now a spokesperson for the pop star’s U.S. label, Columbia Records, has shut down the claims, telling Billboard.com there is “no truth to this rumor”.
