Taylor Swift Surprises Fan with Student Loan Help

Taylor Swift has given one of her fans a New Year to remember by surprising her with a check to help pay off her student loans.

The “Blank Space” hitmaker began sending unexpected gifts to her biggest devotees over the festive season and she has continued the generous gesture this year by mailing some much-needed funds to Rebekah Bortnicker.

Bortnicker shared her story on social networking site Tumblr on Monday, revealing she received a personal check for $1,989- a nod to the title of Swift’s latest album, 1989 – from the singer, in addition to a handwritten letter, Polaroid photos and other presents in the courier package.

Video footage of Bortnicker opening the box shows the fan breaking down and crying in joy, exclaiming, “I have nothing to say! Oh my god!”

She later penned an online message to Swift, thanking her for the surprise.

In the blog post, she writes, “I know I’ve said it so many times already but thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Never in a million years did I ever imagine this happening to me.

“I am so honored and so thankful to call myself a fan, to have supported you all of these years because you are truly the most amazing, genuine, and selfless person… I can’t wait to see you on tour and thank you a 1,989 more times.”

No one knows how to connect with their fans like Taylor, but we can all hope her fellow celebs learn from her example!
