Spike’s first Tut trailer has a little bit of everything, which could prove to be a fun (albeit historically inaccurate) ride for viewers.
The limited series, based on the life of the Boy King, stars Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley as Ay, King Tut’s influential grand vizier and Avan Jogia as (a WAY better looking than he really was) King Tutankhamun.
The first look at the mini-series event shows fans that they can get whatever they came to tune in for at some point. Violent deaths, betrayal, politics, true love, war…I guess we know why they’re calling it an epic now.
Watch the intriguing trailer below:
Tut tells the story of the youngest ruling Pharaoh for the first time on television and the series will follow the story of Tut’s rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory, while dealing with the issues that often come along with being royalty, which include his closest advisors, friends and lovers scheming for their own nefarious interests.
The six-hour, three-night event also stars Nonso Anozie, Sibylla Deen, Kylie Bunbury, Alexander Siddig, Peter Gadiot and Iddo Goldberg.
Tut premieres on Spike TV July 19th, 2015.
Will you tune into the TV event when it premieres?
