‘Riverdale’ Star KJ Apa’s Happy Birthday Video to Ellen Leads to a Scare

When fans of Riverdale tune in every Wednesday night, they’re doing so for a number of reasons. The cast is incredible, and their bond off-screen brings so much depth to the characters and their stories on screen. The plot is riveting – full of twists and turns that make it hard to look away. Furthermore, the way that most everyone from that (not so) sleepy little town is beautiful does not hurt at all.

One of those easy to look at characters is Archie Andrews played by KJ Apa. The star recently wished Ellen Degeneres a happy birthday with a video that showcased a bit more than just his well wishes for her next year.

It comes as no surprise that he soon got invited to her show for the first time and their interview was nothing short of hilarious. Of course, she shared her video with fans before diving in. We had to know what the fuss was about after all.

Turns out, KJ wanted his video to have some extra ‘oomph’ to stand out above the rest – and it did. He caught his reflection in the mirror, but then laughed about the…lack of a tan some of his features had.

The video garnered some laughter from fans, and soon after Ellen celebrated KJ’s first visit with the shirtless photo montage. The pair began discussing Australia and New Zealand, and before things got too heated – Ellen picked up her coffee mug from the table.

KJ followed, and in a step of perfect timing – was met with his first big scare from Ellen.

There’s something about the calm look on Ellen’s face (who is a pro at this by now) and the complete shock on KJ’s before he hops out of his chair and rides the adrenaline rush. We have to say, this is one of our favorite scares from the series so far. He took it like a champ.
