Rachel McAdams in Talks to Join ‘True Detective’
Rachel McAdams is in talks to join Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in the second season of crime drama True Detective.
According to Variety, the actress has been offered the female lead role in the series.
According to Deadline, “McAdams was an early frontrunner but she didn’t read and had a potential scheduling issue with a movie. Last week, seven actresses read for creator Nic Pizzolatto.”
Jessica Biel and Malin Ackerman were both reportedly considered, but McAdams has emerged as the frontrunner.
Farrell will play a cop trying to do his job surrounded by corrupt police bosses and a mobster, who demands favors from him, while Vaughn will portray a desperate career criminal.
Taylor Kitsch is also expected to sign on for the project.
Earlier this week, Vaughn was confirmed – he will play a crime boss. Farrell and Kitsch will play cops caught up in a corruption scandal.
