‘Game of Thrones’ Star Aiden Gillen Cast in ‘The Maze Runner’ Sequel

Game of Thrones star Aiden Gillen has been cast to play the villain in the sequel to The Maze Runner, entitled Maze Runner: Scorch Trials.

Gillen is well known for his character on the HBO series, the sly survivor Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish, and has been tapped to play Janson, who is referred to as Rat-Man and becomes the main antagonist of the series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is scheduled to begin shooting at the end of October.

The Maze Runner debuted to a $32.5 million opening weekend and $37.6 million from 50 markets for a worldwide which prompted studio bosses at 20th Century Fox to greenlight the sequel for release next fall.
