President Obama Set to Appear on ‘Running Wild with Bear Grylls’

President Obama is ready to let the world see what he’s made of when it comes to facing off with Mother Nature in a special edition episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

Bear will be taking the President on a trek through Alaska, where the two will observe the effects of climate change on the area. It’s not all observing and climate change talk, however. The pair will then take on the Alaskan Wilderness, making Obama the first U.S. president to receive a crash course in survival techniques from Bear Grylls.

Grylls is pretty hardcore, so we’ll see how well the prez can keep up. He’s known worldwide as one of the most-recognized faces of survival and outdoor adventure, and ffter three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces, with the legendary SAS, Grylls went on to become one of the youngest climbers ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

Other famous faces that have made appearances on the series include Kate Winslet, Drew Brees, Kate Hudson, Zac Efron, Michelle Rodriguez and Channing Tatum, all of whom faced one-on-one adventures that tested their survival skills and pushed them to their mental and physical limits.

President Obama’s special will air on NBC later this year.
