PlayStation Releases First ‘Powers’ Season 2 Trailer

PlayStation has just released the first Powers season 2 trailer online! The footage from the new season originally premiered last Saturday at the PlayStation Experience, but now we have the trailer for you – which shows some pretty significant changes to the series.

Remi Aubuchon, who we know and love from his work on Falling Skies, is the new showrunner, and he was in charge of making new hires behind the scenes in areas of cinematography, costumes, stunts, and production design. So if season 2 looks like it’s taking it up a notch from season 1, you’d be correct.

From incredible guest stars to the characters we fell in love with last season, take a look at a bigger, bolder, and even sexier Powers in the new trailer below.

We’ve visited the set twice during filming of the new season, and we have a ton of interviews coming your way as soon as Sony lifts the embargo, which will likely be just before the season 2 premiere. A premiere date has not currently been announced, but as soon as it – we’ll have it posted!

This is Brian Bendis, executive producer of the PlayStation Originals series Powers, and co-creator of the comic book series the show is based on

Brian Michael Bendis, Powers executive producer and co-creator of the comic book series the show is based on, posted on the PlayStation blog a list of familiar faces returning for season 2, along with some new faces that will be appearing – including Battlestar Galactica‘s Tricia Helfer and Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Wil Wheaton!

We have some familiar faces from season one, some new cast members we’ve already announced, and a few new names you’re hearing about right now for the first time:

Sharlto Copley (District 9) is Detective Christian Walker
Susan Hayward (Vinyl) is Detective Deena Pilgrim
Olesya Rulin (High School Musical) is Calista
Michael Madsen (The Hateful Eight) is Supershock
Michelle Forbes (The Killing) is Retro Girl
Justice Leak (Supergirl) is Detective Kutter
Logan Browning (Hit the Floor) is Zora
Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) is FBI Special Agent Lange
Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars) is an ex-Power, Senator Bailey Brown

Timothy Perez (Uncanny X-Men) is FBI Special Agent Slag
Dominic Rains (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) is The Lance
Matthew Yang King (G.I. Joe: Renegades) is THX

There is still a lot of mystery around some of these characters and you are probably asking yourself who they are or how they’re involved. That’s ok. All will be revealed… in time.

If you need to catch up on Powers, the 10-episode first season can be found on the PlayStation Store (free streaming to all PlayStation Plus Subscribers – as well as individual purchase). The series is also available on Blu-ray!

Powers is produced by Jinxworld and Circle of Confusion in association with Sony Pictures Television. Remi Aubuchon, Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming and David Engel serve as executive producers.
