Cobra Kai Season 4

If you’ve been waiting impatiently for the next season of Cobra Kai to strike, you won’t need to wait much longer. You can end 2021 by starting Cobra Kai Season 4!

Cobra Kai Season 4 Release Date

Netflix has announced the premiere of Cobra Kai Season 4 will drop on December 31. This release date comes with the promise of a quintessential element of the Miyagi-verse returning: the infamous All Valley Karate Championship!

In a series that has so successfully blended the expansion of the show with callbacks to the original story, this will be a welcomed throwback to the original Karate Kid movie for the diehard fans.

The History and Future of Cobra Kai Filming

Cobra Kai, the show centering around the Cobra Kai dojo and the original Karate Kid characters, wasn’t always the Netflix hit that it is today. It started off as a YouTube Premium show, but as it soared in popularity, Netflix chose to get involved.

It’s impressive that fans are so passionate about the original films that they’ve generated enough buzz to warrant a show with multiple seasons. And the excitement isn’t over; Cobra Kai Season 5 is already slated for production!

Seasons 1 and 2 were originally released on YouTube Premium. However, Netflix stepped in, picking up the show, before the release of Season 3. Season 3 was wrapped well before Seasons 1 and 2 hit Netflix. But the writers and production crew waited with baited breath to see if it would perform well enough to warrant a fourth season.

Lucky for us, Cobra Kai’s explosive popularity not only got Season 4 secured, but Season 5 is already guaranteed. When Season 4 hits Netflix, it will be exciting to see what the producers could do with a Netflix-sized budget.

Will Season 4 be able to deliver even more than it could with seasons 1 through 3? What twists do the writers have for us? How will the producers bring us more conflict and comedy?

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until the end of the year to find out for sure. But the odds are good that what we’ll get will be even better than what previous seasons offered. Take a look at the new teaser for the series below.

Cobra Kai Season 4 Cast

The series of course returns with the two original front runners, Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence. While their relationship has flopped back and forth from friends to enemies, they’re putting aside their past to team up this season. They have a bigger fish to fry: John Kreese, played by Martin Kove.

To make things even more complicated, Terry Silver is back, played by the original Thomas Ian Griffith. Silver and Kreese plan to take down LaRusso and Zabka. So the duo had better start training harder than ever before to put this decades-long feud to rest.

LaRusso’s wife Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) will return. And we’ll just have to wait and see how she reacts to this oncoming All Valley brawl. In past seasons, we’ve seen her struggle in her relationship with LaRusso. Can their marriage take the heat from the karate competition?

Along with his rocky relationship with his wife, we’ll have to wait to see how things play out between him and his daughter, Samatha LaRusso (Mary Mouser).

With the release of Cobra Kai Season 4, also comes new faces to the series. Two new young actors will join the season regulars: Dallas Dupree Young and Oona O’Brien. Young will play the character of Kenny, a kid who finds and uses karate as a way to defend himself from bullies. O’Brien plays an intelligent, competitive, and quick-tempered young girl who might decide to explore the world of karate.

In addition to these two, the new cast includes Nick Marini (Summer of 8), Chris Schmidt Jr. (Stranger Things), Soji Arai (The Ramen Girl), Han Soto (Logan), and Cuyle Carvin (The 24th).

Creator Josh Heald is still at the helm of the series. And he is working alongside the other two creators, Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz.

What to Expect

However the All Valley Karate Championship ends, you don’t need to fear. Cobra Kai is already confirmed for Season 5. So no matter where Cobra Kai Season 4 takes us, we can be sure that there will be more karate drama to consume next year.

  1. I just cannot believe this series is still around, much less even started to begin with. It definitely must be better than I expected.
