The movie, which is still currently untitled, will also see Barry Keoghan, who most recently starred in The Banshees of Inisherin, and The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, starring opposite Ortega.

Tesfaye has co-written the screenplay with Reza Fahim. This project will mark Tesfaye’s first major movie role. And while fans are naturally curious about the project. However, little is known about the project, despite the fact that it is currently in production.

Ortega and Keoghan, who both had massive success in 2022, were reported to have multiple offers for their next projects. However, both were excited to make this movie their next career move.

And although Tesfaye had a small cameo of himself in Uncut Gems, this will mark his feature acting debut in a leading role. Additionally, he is also working with Fahim on HBO’s The Idol, which the star co-created with Euphoria boss Sam Levison.

Next up for Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan…

Fans of Keoghan can see him next in Saltburn, which is a follow-up to Emerald Fennell’s 2020 film, Promising Young Woman. And fans of Ortega can look forward to seeing her in Scream VI, which hits theaters on March 10. She’ll be reprising her role as Tara Carpenter from the 2022’s Scream.

The upcoming horror flick has had its share of drama surrounding it, as Neve Campbell revealed she wouldn’t be returning as Sidney Prescott, stating she didn’t feel “valued” by the deal she was offered. However, Ortega insists that fans won’t be disappointed.

“I will say there’s so much going on in this next one, that it’s so action-heavy and so gore-heavy that I think you’re gonna be distracted almost,” Ortega says, noting that she doesn’t think fans will feel the absence of Campbell’s character.
