Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Details and Trailer
The next installment of the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise has been announced and it’s called Advanced Warfare. It is being developed by Sledgehammer games, their first entry in the series, though they did help in the development of Modern Warfare 3. This is also going to be a next-gen focused title although there doesn’t seem to be any information about current gen offerings. The game is slated to release on November 4th of this year.
Of major interest is the fact that this game features Kevin Spacey as the main antagonist. The game revolves around what they developer is calling a “plausible future in which technological progress and today’s military practices have converged with powerful consequences”. In this future, Private Military Contractors constitute most of the worlds military forces. The game’s villain Jonathan Irons, played by Spacey, runs the biggest of these. A PMC by the name of the Atlas Corporation.
On the gameplay side of things, the game seems to be taking cues from recent mega hit TitanFall. The game involves the use of exoskeletons and robotic armor to allow for “enhanced player movement and verticality through boost jumps and grappling, covert cloaking abilities, and biomechanics that provide unparalleled strength, awareness, endurance, and speed.” In addition to that, several other sci-fi type elements are seen in the trailer, like hover-bikes.
