Iggy Azalea Considers Leaving Social Media Behind ‘Maybe Forever’

Iggy Azalea is contemplating shunning social media “forever” after turning her back on Twitter and Instagram in recent weeks in response to cyber bullying and privacy issues.

The rapper logged off Twitter in February after she was bombarded with nasty comments about her bikini body, months after becoming involved in a series of social media disputes with fellow rappers Azealia Banks and Q-Tip, and bosses at Papa John’s Pizza after a delivery man allegedly leaked her cell phone number.

Earlier this month, she also handed over control of her Instagram photo-sharing account to her management team after taking issue with the spread of paparazzi snaps of herself on the grounds of her own home.

Azalea reveals not having to face the extra public scrutiny has been a welcome change and she is considering making her online absence permanent.

She tells The Associated Press, “(It’s) so nice not to be on social media so I’m kind of going to continue that until, maybe forever.”

However, Azalea admits she is still seething over the paparazzo who used a long lens to snoop on her at the new Los Angeles property she owns with her basketball star boyfriend Nick Young.

She says, “I think it’s disgusting. I don’t think it’s nice to stick your camera through somebody’s fence and hedge and take a picture of them in their yard and think that’s OK at all.”
